Sick Thoughts
So I've been sick for a little over a week now with some sort of severe cold but not quite flu type thing. I didn't go to work from Wed-Fri which gave me a lot of time to sit around and think a little about what is going on with me and my life lately.
No ones job is perfect. There will always be the coworkers that you don't like and the tasks that are more chores but one thing about my job is that I don't feel like I have much support for my decision making from the store manager and the ASM is too new for me to know what she thinks really. The SM is a really nice guy but that also makes him soft on some things he should be hard on. He talks about making changes towards our goals but there's no direction or leadership from him and no hard conversations about some of the really deep rooted problems that he has de facto allowed to fester by not saying anything about them. Unaddressed problem behavior becomes condoned.
Its more stress than I really care to have from my work added to the extreme commute. The way to help with that is to move closer but that will add stress from living in a more expensive place and further committing to staying in Bellevue for a longer period of time.
And it keeps getting closer.
