Sick

I went to the dr today because I've been sick for 5 days and every day seemed to get worse. He says I have allergies and a viral infection of some sort. He did not rule out SWINE FLUUUUUU but he didn't seem all that concerned about what kind of virus it was other than to tell me very seriously if I wasn't feeling better in 2 days from the prescription cocktail he provided me with, I should come back in.

So I went and picked up my 3 medicines, and Chad made me some chicken soup. I couldn't eat too much of it and then I tried to sleep but the pain in my face from the headache and my upset bubbling stomach kept me tossing. I finally got up to use the bathroom and threw up when I went into the room. That made me feel a little better so I'm wondering if something I was prescribed doesn't agree with me. I'm going to take it again tomorrow and see what happens and if I feel the same way I will go back in immediately.

I dreamed about Stathi last night.

3 years since I've seen him, why does he invade my mind now?

I saw it yesterday. Unquestionably the best movie since The Dark Knight, and I want to go see it again. LIKE NOW.

I've watched the trailer for the new Star Trek movie probably two dozen times now. The newest one that is. Every review I can find says its amazing, must go, the best movie made for the series. The acting is good, the special effects are amazing, even the score is mentioned, and if the score is the same as the music they use in that trailer then I'm sold.

When my mom comes out here in two weeks we're going to see it. I cannot wait!

[Error: unknown template qotd] It depends what happened. But in general, yes.

I finished reading the Twilight series today, including Morning Sun, the incomplete leaked 5th novel available on Stephenie Meyers' website.

All I can say is that I remember feeling exactly the same way about someone.

Once upon a time.

I'm a little bit jealous.

Of course the pride of being from Illinois and having Obama elected president is always tempered by the corruption of something else from Illinois.

We have been approved for our new apartment complex! Yay! So we will be moving to Puyallup officially at the end of February.

New Job

Well Friday was my last day at the Bellevue store. I start at the Puyallup store on Monday. They had a cake and I went to lunch with 6 of my co workers. I wasn't sad, I'm not really that happy. I guess its just not that big a deal yet. It doesn't even really feel real that I won't be going there on Monday.

Red Bull is gross. I had my first one today (courtesy of a 7:30 a.m. lunch break at Safeway, it being the only food place open at that time).

Also, for Phil's graduation present from Law School I think I shall take him to buy a suit.

Guess where I worked today.

Tore apart my whole apartment.

- cleaned the whole bedroom closet out
- looked under bed
- checked coffee table and dining room bookshelf/storage buckets
- checked storage ottomans
- checked china cabinet (it has knick knacks)
- checked office desk
- checked bureau
- checked scrapbook storage box, in which I found another book of collected happy expressions that used to always be kept together with my poetry notebook
- checked backpacks, purses in which I found my paper journal which has about 4 poems in it
- pulled out current poetry notebook which was in my purse like its supposed to be
- checked under sofa and in cushions Hey my Mr. & Mrs. Smith dvd I thought I lost

Short of checking under the bathroom and kitchen sinks and in the kitchen cabinets I don't know where else to look.

I'm also dreading bringing this up to Chad because he will probably roll his eyes at me, relegating my panic to 'no big deal status' and tell me to just wait until Niles gets home to ask him to send me the files. I haven't made as big a deal of my poetry to him because I haven't been writing much since I moved here (mostly because I'm happy here and I tend to write poetry when I'm severely angst-ridden and depressed). But that book was supposed to be a legacy piece. I have no idea where it could have gone to. I suppose the only other place to logically look would be my car, in the box of things that came out of my office at work but I don't think I would have taken that to work since there's no more room to write in it.
kestrana: (Default)
So Kermix linked http://www.blurb.com/ today and I love it. I want to make real books of my poetry for my friends and relatives.

But since Niles took down the dreaminblue webhost the only copies I have now are my hard copies of poems. Niles said he copied the entire fileserv to his computer before cancelling the hosting service. I asked him to send me the files, which he did not do. Now he's in Israel and hopefully will be returning in a few weeks.

Problem is, I guard the book that has all my originals very closely. It is located on the second shelf to the left of the bedroom closet.

Or it was.

Its gone.

And so are many of my words.

Well, normally I would feel the need to sum the experiences of the year into a convenient little list or a couple paragraphs of profundity, however I think that there's really no point to it at this time.

I am employed. I like my job. Its not glamourous. I have a boyfriend. He's a nice guy. Nothing's probably going to change any time soon with that situation. We're moving to Puyallup in February. This past year was ok. The world revolved and keeps doing so. The ants go marching one by one. Hurrah.

NYEve was fun. Lani, Scott, Adriane and Tony came over. We played Munchkin and Scene It. Today Lani and I went shopping. We missed Adriane at work. Then Scott, Lani, Chad and I went to see Yes Man. It was a good film choice.

Snow

Dec. 19th, 2008 08:00 pm

Snow blankets all of the Seattle-Tacoma metro area. For a few inches people abandon cars and drive the wrong way on high ways. Chad points out there are very few flat roads here. Everyone lives on some sort of hill (we live on a mountain). The store closed at 4 pm today although I wasn't working. We don't know if it will be open tomorrow. I'm scheduled at 4 a.m. My supervisor is the key carrier. She didn't go in today because in Woodinville where she lives they have well over 2 feet by now. If she doesn't show up tomorrow morning it could be 2 hours before another person comes to let us in.

Working two 10+ hour days this week but not pulling overtime sucks. It means I have to take ginormously long lunches, or just donate time to the company. Yeah...guess which option I'm taking.

Christmas is next week though. It really comes so quickly. And then gone, again until next year.

Probably one of the worst things about working in retail is having to listen to repetitive music over the loudspeaker 100% of the time you are at work. Admittedly this year the situation is better as they started the music a week later and for the first 10 days or so it was mixed with other (not necessarily fantastic) music, but the Friday before Thanksgiving the holiday music took over and has dominated the store ever since. So, since its the busiest time of the year and we have mountains of work piling up on us, what does my pricing team do but compile a list of the 10 Best and 10 Worst songs they're playing this year in JCPenneyWorld.
