7. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning? : Tim, one of my employees, because he didn't show up to work

9. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane? Miami to take a cruise in the Bahamas in 2nd grade

10. Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk? : The first best friend I really remember was Lindsay Kesselman but my mom says I had earlier friends than that, that I don't remember.

13. Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time? : My aunt sharyn's. I was the flower girl

22. Who was your FIRST roommate(s)? : I can see her face but I can't think of her name, she played soccer in college. I only roomed with her a few weeks due to an evacuation of our dorm.

23. If you had one wish, What would it be? : I want to be healthy forever

24. What is something you would learn if you had the chance? : To speak Arabic or Gaelic or something with an ic at the end. Baltic?

I finished reading the Twilight series today, including Morning Sun, the incomplete leaked 5th novel available on Stephenie Meyers' website.


All I can say is that I remember feeling exactly the same way about someone.

I'm a little bit jealous.

We have been approved for our new apartment complex! Yay! So we will be moving to Puyallup officially at the end of February.

Red Bull is gross. I had my first one today (courtesy of a 7:30 a.m. lunch break at Safeway, it being the only food place open at that time).

Also, for Phil's graduation present from Law School I think I shall take him to buy a suit.

So Kermix linked http://www.blurb.com/ today and I love it. I want to make real books of my poetry for my friends and relatives.

But since Niles took down the dreaminblue webhost the only copies I have now are my hard copies of poems. Niles said he copied the entire fileserv to his computer before cancelling the hosting service. I asked him to send me the files, which he did not do. Now he's in Israel and hopefully will be returning in a few weeks.

Problem is, I guard the book that has all my originals very closely. It is located on the second shelf to the left of the bedroom closet.

Or it was.

Its gone.

And so are many of my words.

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? Quit a job

2. Did you keep your New Years resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I don't remember if I made any.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Some co-workers but no one really close.

4. Did anyone close to you die? Distant relatives, again not really close. Two high school classmates died in Iraq and Afghanistan.

5. What states did you visit? Washington, Oregon, California

6. What countries did you visit? The U.S.

7. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? Perseverence

8. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory and why? November 4, 2008. And also November 5, the day the world turned over.

9. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I'm not sure. Surviving it?

10. What was your biggest failure? Although in the end it will be for the best, leaving my management position feels like a failure.

11. Did you suffer illness or injury? I did something to my left shoulder that will require physical therapy.

12. What was the best thing you bought? Left 4 Dead

13. Whose behavior merited celebration? Barack Obama

14. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? To steal Vick's answer, the Wal-Mart shoppers who'd kill a guy for a damned toy.

15. Where did most of your money go? Paying bills

16. What did you get really really excited about? Blizzcon and the subsequent Unfadacon

18. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder? Last year at this time I was happy about the things now making me sad and vice versa.

21. How will you be spending Christmas? We went to Chad's parents after surviving the blizzard

27. What was the best book you read? This Marion Zimmer Bradley book Dad lent me

28. What was your greatest musical discovery? That I like generic mass media pop music like Britney Spears, sad I know.

32. What did you do on your birthday? I worked. It was Black Friday.

33. What one thing would have made your year more satisfying? If I had exercised more fiscal responsibility early in the year.

34. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? I got a lot more conscious of the clothes and other ways of wearing them.

35. What kept you sane? WoW, Cooking Dash, other computer things.

36. Which celebrity did you fancy the most? Daniel Craig yummmmmm

37. What political issue stirred you the most? The election and the last minute things the Bush Administration is trying to do to the environment.

38. Who did you miss? All my high school friends that I haven't seen in almost two years now.

39. Who was the best new person you met? Jan my supervisor

40. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008: Don't take your friends for granted. Talk when you feel like talking, even if they don't want to listen.

Snow blankets all of the Seattle-Tacoma metro area. For a few inches people abandon cars and drive the wrong way on high ways. Chad points out there are very few flat roads here. Everyone lives on some sort of hill (we live on a mountain). The store closed at 4 pm today although I wasn't working. We don't know if it will be open tomorrow. I'm scheduled at 4 a.m. My supervisor is the key carrier. She didn't go in today because in Woodinville where she lives they have well over 2 feet by now. If she doesn't show up tomorrow morning it could be 2 hours before another person comes to let us in.

Probably one of the worst things about working in retail is having to listen to repetitive music over the loudspeaker 100% of the time you are at work. Admittedly this year the situation is better as they started the music a week later and for the first 10 days or so it was mixed with other (not necessarily fantastic) music, but the Friday before Thanksgiving the holiday music took over and has dominated the store ever since. So, since its the busiest time of the year and we have mountains of work piling up on us, what does my pricing team do but compile a list of the 10 Best and 10 Worst songs they're playing this year in JCPenneyWorld.
