While I'm disturbed at the implications, I am also delighted to see my muse has returned.

I never wanted this to end
I'm holding breath before the fall
Are you my lover?
Are you my friend?
In sunlit valleys the darkest shadows
fall in summer cold as night
Are you my conscience
sparrow song
alight on wings bourne softly
into dawn, away from
sawdust heartache gone
between the lightning in the
dense and never-ending forest.
I catch myself suffocating,
didn't realize I was
holding my breath
for so long, so deep
cannot capture it to mend
the sawdust heartache sleeps.

I haven't finished
half a dozen little sonnets
each one becoming lost
inside a misery

sucked into a glowing smile
some grace plus beauty
jealous tendrils grasping
at unrealized dreams

Their dreams are on the table
Mine are washed away
Where did they go?
were they true real?

I haven't finished
half a dozen little heartaches
jealous of such grace and beauty
and I'm longing for my dreams.

skin is cracked and blistered
searing from within
a molten core
churning magma to the surface
It burns to keep it locked inside
eating away at rocky prison walls
ready to pour out to the open
If I lost control.
If I leaked more than steam.
the devastation it would wreak around
unfathomable destruction of beloved
nature so long nurtured
by wanton irresponsible destruction
How long does it take
for the forest to reclaim
all it had lost?
